Fission [Physion] is a monster. You can create delayed pick hits with phased undertones, reverbed plucks with dry-pitched tonal drones, slow bowed-sounding piano notes with tremolo wobble... and the list goes on and on.

Fission’s [Physion] structural split functionality is an innovation not typically available in an effects plug-in. It rewards experimentation in more esoteric scenarios, but also works nicely for repairing audio.

It's cinematic and incredible and makes me feel like Hans Zimmer... [Y]ou can really almost play it like an instrument. This is extremely fun when using the unit as an external effect while DJing... This reverb pedal is truly out of this world.

Apart from opening a new frontier in plug-ins, its strength is that it encourages an approach that blurs the line between practical and creative sound design applications. Elements of Fission can be found in other plug-ins, or rather, groups of plug-ins. But nothing really does what Structural Effects can do.

I had excellent results using Fission [Physion] for transient balancing on bass, and I was able to remedy a track in such a way that I’ve only been able to partially achieve elsewhere.

The separation of the incoming audio into transients and tonal parts of the signal, leading to parallel multi-effects, introduces a new level of sound design like no other plug-in can deliver.

5 Stars. It’s so clever that it begs the question: why no one has done this before?... Fission [Physion] is a remarkable plug-in, capable of pulling out tricks that were otherwise very hard to achieve, heavily favouring creativity and experimentation

This isn’t your run of the mill transient shaper, this is something very unique indeed... It’s a new way of affecting audio and I like that.

Despite its initial apparent similarity to traditional transient shapers, Eventide has come up with something very new and different with Fission [Physion] creative sound design and audio mangling.

Eventide wants to change how you think about processing audio... So you could separate the pitched, resonant components of a tom and separate it from the hit, or take fret noise out of a guitar sound, or mangle new sounds entirely. The key is that you can not only divide up the sound into these bits, but put them back together.

Space is a masterpiece of exceptional reverb algorithms and offers enough interstellar possibilities to be your go-to ‘verb of choice for a long time to come... The sounds are surreal and beautiful for some of the most majestic shimmer reverb you’ll ever experience. [Overall Rating: 5 Stars]

While this reverb plug-in only simulates one room, it does a great job and is surprisingly versatile when compared to similarly priced IR convolution reverbs available on the market today.

Eventide Fission [Physion] is a seriously great sounding plug-in that stimulates experimentation otherwise not possible. I highly recommend giving it a spin. And kudos to Eventide for really imaginative and creative plug-in development. And for inventing new tools that we didn’t know we needed, and now can’t live without! —Eli Krantzberg

Omnipressor is a compressor and expander/gate dynamics plug-in that goes about the business of compression in a very aggressive and shouty way. If you are looking for a subtle transparent compression then look somewhere else, if you want a compressor with bags of pump, depth and character then look no further.
