Power Supply

Can I use a third-party power supply?

Eventide's own power supply provides the Rose with 9VDC, 500mA with the center pin negative. We cannot recommend or judge the adequacy of power supplies which we have not tested. It is the responsibility of 3rd party manufacturers of power supplies to verify that their power supplies work with Eventide products if they wish to market them as doing so. Users may try non-recommended third-party power supplies at their own risk. Using a non-regulated power supply which allows the voltage to reach 15VDC or more can cause damage to an Eventide stompbox—such damage is not covered under warranty.

Factory power supply doesn’t work with my Space

We notice that some old Space pedals require more current (>500ma) when they power up. A small batch of our factory power supplies cannot provide that much current. We will have a new universal power which can provide more current and work with all factor and H9 pedals.

What are its specs?

5.5 x 2.5mm barrel, tip positive.

Eventide stompboxes can operate from a 5W power source that supplies regulated 9 to 12VDC max. The minimum required power ranges from a maximum of 4.5W at power up (all LEDs lit) to about 3.6W in normal operation depending on how many LEDs are lit.

  • For a regulated 12VDC, the current requirement is 380mA at power up and 300mA in normal operation. Do not use unregulated 12V.
  • For a regulated 9VDC, the current requirement is 500mA at power up and 400mA in normal operation.
