Not sure what your connections are. We would strongly suggest that you use AES or WCLK for sync, rather than relying on the FireWire sync.
Also, make sure that the H8000 has some space around it so it does not get too hot -the fact that it takes a few hours to misbehave suggests it may be heat related.
