Usually, unbalanced to balanced simply unbalances that line. But you really need to look into exactly what this “DAW/patchbay” is outputting.
‘Line levels’ are not created equally. Might end up with distortion (or much worse). Might be just fine with a short cable run. It is difficult to diagnose remotely, without knowing the components & specs.
You’ve got to put in the research on this one. I may gamble with my own equipment, but I wouldn’t recommend anything specific with someone else’s gear at play.
