A Signature Piece

To get the lowdown on the H910 modeling process, we spoke to Eventide DSP engineer Dan Gillespie, who spearheaded the H910 plug-in project. As Eventide’s first’s an effect that has made its mark on a variety of records and genres.

The Glitch is Back!

We just love Laurie Anderson, the revered avant-garde artist, composer, musician and film director. She was kind enough to chat with us about the H910 Harmonizer. A long time user of the original hardware, she was very excited to find out the plug-in was recreated to sound just like the original (glitches and all).

Sculpt Sneak Peek Jam

Sculpt Sneak Peek Jam

Vernon Reid and Andee Blacksugar demonstrate Sculpt, available now for H9 Core, H9, and free for H9 MAX. Sculpt is a multi-band distortion algorithm that provides musicians with a degree of control that would otherwise require 3 or 4 pedals or complex plug-ins.

I'm enjoying Octavox immensely. The plugin is in my opinion genius and it's an inspiration builder when looking into creating melodies.

Michael Brauer

I don’t think there was one record that I mixed during the late 70’s and early 80’s that didn’t have the 910 somewhere on the mix. That grainy low bit musical 910 sound disappeared on all later models.

Modern Recording (1976)

For the creative recordist, or sound-show manipulator, or serious student of musical sonics and speech patterns the Harmonizer also has unexplored potential for both investigating and creating a myriad of possibilities.

Joe Chiccarelli

It was perfect for a double track effect on the lead vocal by slightly shifting the pitch and adding a short delay. Guitarists used it all the time as an effect by turning up the Feedback control for a wild tunneling effect. I would occasionally use it to manually pitch down a drum full for a wild effect. I also used it to detune room Mics on a drum kit recorded in a small room. It gave it a sense of size and depth.

Tango with Tverb

Tverb Tango video

"Tverb offers one of the very best sounding acoustic spaces I’ve ever heard on a plug-in, with a natural and detailed room sound that blends very nicely with the source." -- Gearslutz

I fell in love with it the moment I tried it.

I fell in love with it the moment I tried it. Tverb reproduces [Visconti's] technique by supplying algorithms that realistically emulate the microphones, processors, and room he used in the original recording...The result is a stunningly realistic reverberation paired with a huge collection of presets designed for just about any situation.
