A:

Essentially yes, this bundle contains the same plug-ins but with many new additions. We think you'll be happy with all the new features. Please see the individual plug-in manuals for a detailed overview of each plug-in.

A:

The Anthology X license is a locked bundle, so all 17 licenses must stay together. You can, however, authorize the Anthology X bundle in 2 different locations, whether those locations are iLok accounts or machines.

A:

Anthology X consists of 17 individual plug-ins.  These are H910, H910 Dual, H949, H949 Dual, UltraChannel, UltraReverb, Octavox, Quadravox, H3000 Factory, H3000 Band Delays, Instant Phaser, Instant Flanger, Omnipressor, EChannel, EQ45, EQ65, and Precision Time Align.  We've spent a lot of time with each plug-in and suggest you do as well.

Activations/Registration

A: Before You Begin

You will need to provide three peices of information as part of this process:

1. iLok.com User ID & License Manager If you don’t have an ilok.com account, you can create one for free by visiting iLok.com Download and install the free iLok License Manager to activate and manage your plug-in licenses.  2. Eventide Account If you don't have an Eventide account, Click here to Register. A confirmation email will be sent after completion. If you don't see it, check your spam folder. 3. Serial Number & License Key

The Serial Number will be two letters followed by 6 numbers (i.e SR-######). The License Key will be 3 sets of 4 characters, a letter or a number, each; like XXXX-XXXX-XXXX.

Registering Your Plug-in with Eventide Register your plug-in using your Eventide account, iLok user ID, serial number and license key. Activating Your Plug-in Find your plug-in license in the iLok License Manager and activate it on your computer. Download the plug-in installer and run it on the same computer as your DAW and iLok License Manager. Launch your DAW. If you do not see the plug-in, you may need to rescan.
A:

Using iLok License Manger, you can activate the license in two separate locations, each of which can be either a computer, or an iLok license key. You can move these licenses at any time using PACE's iLok License Manager software.

Compatibility

A:

All Eventide native plug-ins are 64 bit compatible with AAX, AU and VST.

A:

All Eventide native plugins are 64 bit compatible with AAX, AU and VST.

A:

When you install them it automatically installs both 32 and 64-bit. You can, however, do a custom install of only the 32-bit if you so desire.

A:

It does not, and we do not currently have plans to support AAX DSP. The plug-ins have, however, been optimized for AAX Native and run quite well in that format.

A:

We have no way of knowing. You'll have to get this information from your VST host's developer.

A:

VST2 does not support side chain functionality natively. As such, we do not support side chain on VST. If you're using a Mac and a DAW with Audio Units support, the AU version of the plug-in will support the side chain.

A:

Generally, yes. However a couple plug-ins, specifically H910, H949, Octavox and Quadravox, sound different enough that we did not enable compatibility for these plug-ins. If this is causing a problem for you, please contact Eventide Support.

A:

Yes it is. Specifically Anthology X supports AAX Native plug-ins for Pro Tools 10.3.6 and above.

A:

Eventide AAX Native plug-ins will work with Pro Tools 10.3.6 and above. If you have a version of Pro Tools 10 which is lower than 10.3.6, please use the free update to the latest version of Pro Tools 10.

A:

We currently test our plug-ins with the following DAWs:

ProTools 10.3.6, ProTools 12, Ableton Live 9, Logic Pro X, Cubase 8.

If you experience problems with other DAWs, please post in our Plug-in Forum and we will do our best to investigate.

A:

Eventide plug-ins work in AAX, VST and AU in 32 and 64-bit formats.

A:

Our native plugins support AAX32, AAX64, AU and VST on Mac, and AAX32, AAX64 and VST on Windows. Our legacy ProTools TDM plugins support ProTools HD and HD-Accel on both Mac and Windows.

A:

We have now added AAX64 support to the shipping installers for all native plug-ins.

A:

While we hope to eventually support VST3, we do not currently and do not have a timeline for VST3 support.

A:

We have now added Mac VST support to the shipping installers for all native plug-ins.

General

A:

Eventide plug-ins do not require an iLok USB dongle, but to activate, you need an iLok user ID and the free software iLok License Manager. Visit iLok.com for more information.

A:

In order to authorize your plug-in you need to install the iLok License Manager from www.ilok.com and activate the license to your computer or iLok license dongle. Even if you have a licensed iLok plugged in, the iLok License Manager must be installed.

A:

There are several reasons you may see this error, but a common one is a mismatch of the serial number format. All Eventide plug-ins have a serial number in the form of XX-###### where XX represents a two letter sequence defining the product type and ###### is a 6 digit number. All plugins also have a 16 digit license key in the format ****-****-****-**** where each * can be either a letter or number. The license key is entered on the second page of the registration process.

If you believe your serial number and license key are entered correctly, please contact our Support department and we will solve the problem as quickly as possible.

Licensing

A:

No. While this was once true, all Eventide plug-ins are now authorized via the iLok License Manager software.

A:

Eventide's Native plugins do not require the use of an iLok usb dongle, however they do use PACE's iLok License Manger for authorization which is free software available from iLok's website.

A:

Using iLok License Manger, you can activate the license in two separate locations, each of which can be either a computer or an iLok license key. You can move these licenses between locations at any time using PACE's iLok License Manager software.

A:

In order to authorize your plug-in you need to install the iLok License Manager from www.ilok.com and move the license to either your computer or iLok license dongle. Even if you have a licensed iLok plugged in to your USB port, the iLok License Manager must be installed.

A: During the promotion you may purchase it from any Eventide Software dealer or purchase it directly using our upgrade center.

In the Product Category dropdown select "Native Plug-in (VST, AU, AAX)." In the Product Dropdown select "Anthology X" The code you received from your dealer should say "SN:AX-###### KEY:XXXX-XXXX-XXXX", copy the ###### after the AX- in the Serial Number field and the XXXX-XXXX-XXXX bit in the License key field. Enter your ilok.com account name and hit register. This will register the plug-in bundle to your ilok.com account and send you a license.

If you have any difficulties, contact Eventide Support.

A: Create an account at ilok.com and download and install the iLok License Manager software. Next register your plugin on the Eventide Audio website Login if you have an account, or create a new one.  Select the "MY ACCOUNT" link at the top of any page. Click the Register a New Product button. Follow the instructions provided. Registration will deposit a license to your iLok account which will then appear in iLok License Manager. Use iLok License Manager to move this license onto your iLok or computer and the plugin will be authorized and work.

Alternatively, for products that allow computer authorization, after you've installed iLok License Manger and registered the plugin, you can launch your DAW. Once the DAW scans the installed plugin it will present a dialog box to install the license on your computer or iLok.

Troubleshooting

A:

Logic Audio uses a tool called the Audio Units Manager to manage the Audio Unit plug-ins it tries to load. Sometimes the Audio Units Manager ends up with old information and it needs to rescan the plug-in. To do this, make sure the plug-in shows as properly authorized in the iLok License Manager and load Logic Audio. Then choose Logic Pro->Preferences->Audio Unit Manager... to load the Audio Unit Manager. Finally find the Eventide plug-in in the Audio Unit Manager, mark the check box, select it and hit rescan.

A: Eventide has its own preset format using .tide preset files. By default the installer installs the .tide presets to your Documents/Eventide/Presets folder. It may be necessary to check that the installer has placed the presets in this location. You can load these presets using Eventide's Preset Bar which is part of the plug-in GUI itself. Some hosts have their own preset bars which are used by the host. Eventide's .tide presets will not show up in this preset bar. To load an Eventide Factory Preset you have to use the preset bar which is inside the actual plug-in GUI, usually below the hosts preset bar.
A:

There are a couple reasons this might be happening, but the most likely is a plug-in folder mismatch. Different Windows DAWs use different default plug-in folders, and for this reason there is no common place for us to install a plug-in such that it will be found by all DAWs. By default we install your Eventide VST plug-ins to c:\Program Files\Common Files\Steinberg\VST2 (or c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Steinberg\VST2 for 32 bit plug-ins on 64 bit Windows installations). However, your DAW may not be looking here. You can solve this by either adding this path to your DAWs list of plug-in paths or by locating your DAW's plug-in path and installing your Eventide plug-in there.

A: If you have installed and authorized your plug-in and it still doesn't show up in your DAW, try the following: Mac OS X:  Simply go to your DAW’s preferences and rescan your plug-in. Windows:  It is possible that you need to add the following paths to your DAW’s list of VST folders. Open your DAW’s VST Preferences and add the applicable folder: Windows 32-bit OS:  32-bit DAW: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Steinberg\VST2\ Windows 64-bit OS:  32-bit DAW: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Steinberg\VST2\ 64-bit DAW: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Steinberg\VST2\   After doing this, perform a plug-in rescan in your DAW. Note that the following DAWs sometimes require additional steps: Studio One: In the VST preferences, and make sure "Scan at Startup" is checked. Also click "Reset Blacklist" in the VST preferences, and then restart Studio One. Cubase Go to Devices->Plug-in Manager and click Plug-in Manager->Rescan all. Occasionally Cubase needs to be forced to rescan the plug-in folder.
