A World of Swirl

Inspired by the classic Tri-Stereo Chorus and stompbox choruses of the 1970s and early 1980s, the TriceraChorus pedal pairs rich Bucket Brigade-style chorusing with Eventide’s legendary MicroPitch detuning for a lushness that rivals the jungles of the late Cretaceous Period. TriceraChorus features three chorus voices and three unique chorus effects which can be used to create a wide stereo spread with pulsing waves of modulation. The innovative “Swirl” footswitch adds psychedelic flanging, phasing, and Univibe-style tones. It has never been easier to dial in syrupy smooth, deep modulation on guitar, bass, synths, strings, vocals, and more.

Deep Modulation & Dreamy Textures

TriceraChorus has three chorus voices: Left, Center, and Right, which can be detuned to add even more depth. A three-phase LFO modulates the delay times for these voices, producing a dazzling movement across the stereo field. The combination of the three modulated delays creates a huge wash of chorus reminiscent of that big, dreamy 80s sound.

A Trifecta of Tone

Like the mighty three-horned Dino, TriceraChorus is a powerhouse of chorus offering three effect types complemented by detuning and Swirl. For a quintessential vintage chorus sound, set TriceraChorus to “Chorus” mode. If you need something with more complexity and movement, “Chorale” produces lush, heavenly choruses inspired by classic rackmount Tri-chorus units. For a more warbly, pulsing effect, try “Vibrato.” Add detune for subtle pitch shifting sweetness. Engage the “Swirl” footswitch to get lost in a whirlpool of kaleidoscopic sound.

Reviews

With three different stereo depth levels and three modulation types, the TriceraChorus, like its namesake, really is a three-horned beast.

The TriceraChorus is a very powerful modulation pedal and could be the ultimate chorus effect for a lot of people. It contains a wide range of BBD-inspired modulation effects which are highly adjustable for creating the perfect effect.

MusicTech

TriceraChorus doesn’t disappoint.

Whether your setup for chorusing needs to be simple or complex, the Eventide TriceraChorus doesn’t disappoint in its trifecta of rich, deep, and lush chorused modulations that sound downright panoramic.

Guitar World

Rich, textural and almost ‘3D’ chorus effects.

It covers all the conventional chorus-like effects, but it can manage a credible ADT or doubling effects too, with the detune feature helping reinforce the illusion. Kicking in Swirl really does suggest a hit of Univibe, and the stereo options allow for rich, textural and almost ‘3D’ chorus effects.

Sound on Sound

If you want quintessentially ’80s sounds, this pedal will get you there instantly.

Though tri-stereo chorus was immensely popular in its heyday, its potential is still underutilized. And while I’ve never played through a vintage Dynotronics unit to know how close Eventide got to the original vibes, I’ve played through enough chorus pedals to know that the TriceraChorus does something very different. If you want quintessentially ’80s sounds, this pedal will get you there instantly, [it] has plenty of sonic rewards to offer anyone who’s even a little curious about chorus exploration and wants to embiggen their tones.

Premier Guitar

This is a chorus pedal on steroids.

Out of the box, the TriceraChorus sounds very impressive. The pedal is very easy to setup assuming that you already know what you want to accomplish. I find it great for 80s-style rock ballads (use it for intro/verse/outro sections). It’s also great for enhancing the sound of monophonic synthesizers, such as Korg Monologue or Novation Bass Station II. With its three independent chorus voices, three effects type, MicroPitch detuning and Swirl mode features, the possibilities of creating new sounds are practically unlimited.

SoundBytes

A lot more than your garden-variety chorus pedal.

The TriceraChorus is a flexible and involved modulation pedal that gives you a lot of creative room with only three chorus mode.
