        ala Bill Frisell and his Echoplus?

        or maybe it doesn't have to be a loop but an i definite loooong delay.

        Frisell plays a line, then he repeats it later speeded up and higher in pitch.

        if not, anyone know products that will.  it needs to done on the fly, so it needs to, i guess, easily "switched".

          Yes. In TimeFactor's Looper the Speed knob is a Varispeed control, and the Depth knob controls the Varispeed's Resolution (1 octave, 1/2 octave, etc.)

          Using these controls you can change a loop's speed and pitch.

            thanks.  i've not access to my equipment right now, so:

            one ocatave is upper limit? hoping for two!
