This is a feature request.
Liquid foot controller can grab preset names via midi from Kemper or Axe Fx. It would be cool if it could do that with H9 as well. I asked this to Liquid Foot and they replied that H9 does not support this feature so LF cannot display preset names automatically.

The H9 does have methods for grabbing the entire representation of a preset including the preset name over MIDI and we have a document that explains the format of the preset. I'm not sure how they did their integration with Kemper and Axe FX. Did they expect manufacturers to support their protocol for querying protocol names, or did they deal with those devices own systems for querying preset information?

Where i can find this documentation? I would send it to LF and see what they can do with it.

The documentation for the various MIDI sysex messages one can send to a stompbox to get one of its presets or all of its presets is here:
http://eventide.com/~/media/Files/Audio%20Support/AppNotes/TJsysex.ashx
Once you've actually gotten a preset from a stompbox this document explains how its formatted; the name is always on line 7. So, actually, you don't need to know too much about the rest of the fields, but they are explained:
http://ftp.eventide.com/ljdl/www/PresetFormatDescription.pdf
If they want to do this, tell them they can email me if they have any questions. My email is my username plus @eventide.com.
