Timefactor with two amps

  I am flummoxed and would appreciate your advice. I have a Lehle Little Dual but don’t know whether I really need it after my TimeFactor. I am trying to downsize my pedalboard. The TF outputs feed the Little Dual which is then connected to two amps. I am keen to preserve signal integrity and avoid potential ground loop problems. However, I read elsewhere that the TF has two isolated outputs and wonder whether the Little Dual is overkill. Do most users go straight form TF outputs A and B to their amps, or do you feed the amps through a switcher of some sort? Cheers, Hamish, New Zealand – near Australia ;=)

  If your aim is to have the capability to fix ground loops and phasing problems, the Lehle will still be necessary as the TF itself doesn’t have any of these mitigating options. I myself have used a Lehle P-Split III to fix a phasing issue with two amps.

  It’s sort of a matter of what works best. Mostly likely the TF has buffered and isolated outs. Whether they’re as good as the Lehle is going to be up to you. I would connect the TF direct and if you experience no ground loops, signal loss or loss of highs then that should be fine. However, if you do have issues and when you use the Lehle things sound better than that would be the way to go. The Lehle devices are top notch stuff and designed to stop many of the issues with dual amp and maintaining signal integrity.
  
  The main thing is use your ears and not your eyes.

  Thanks for your prompt helpful responses! I suspect I will keep the Lehle ‘just in case’ but will also investigate ‘with and without’ as suggested. Happy 2023.
