        {I am using a a Friedman JJ jr and a 2×12 cab}:

In the quick start setup manual.. they gave several setup pics, but I didn’t see an option to just:

Plug the guitar cord into my amplifier front input jack.

Plug the H90 Send/Return into the back of my amplifiers’ Send/Return. (3 cables total)

Is this unit not sound good for that setup?

They only showed a picture of guitar, to H90 to front of amplifier., as if you were using a stomp box with an amp that didn’t have a loop (2 cables total)

          Hello,

The setup you describe will work just fine, if that’s how you want it to work.

          • Connect guitar directly to amp
          • Connect Amp Send to H90 input 1
          • Connect Amp Return to H90 output 1

With this setup, all of your effects will be in the amps loop.

You may also consider trying a Pre/Post setup. The H90 is great for this application, since it allows you to use effect in front of the amp, or in the loop of the amp: https://cdn.eventideaudio.com/manuals/h90/1.9.7/content/setup/pre-post.html

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Can you use the H90 as said above and place another pedal, for me it is a graphic EQ I love, into the H90 input/output so it is also included in the amps loop since I want it at the end of the signal chain? I tried putting the pedal out to the H90 in #2 and H90 out #2 to the pedal Input but nothing happened.

              Hello,

Yes, there are a few options: If you always want the EQ pedal at the end of the chain:

              1. Connect guitar directly to amp
              2. Connect Amp Send to H90 input 1
              3. Connect H90 output 1 to EQ pedal input
              4. Connect Amp Return to EQ pedal output

You could also use the EQ pedal in the insert path of the H90, this will allow you to place the EQ at different parts of the signal chains (before/after/between the H90 presets.)

              1. Connect guitar directly to amp
              2. Connect Amp Send to H90 input 1
              3. Connect Amp Return to H90 output 1
              4. Connect H90 output 3 to EQ pedal input
              5. Connect H90 input 3 to EQ pedal output
              6. Press the routing button to enter the Routing menu and choose where the EQ should go.
              7. More info about using inserts can be found here: https://cdn.eventideaudio.com/manuals/h90/1.10.7/content/edit-modes/routing.html#insert-routing
