Hi,
sorry if this is a silly question, but I am a newbie to the Micropitch stomp box, mine has just arrived yesterday.
A while ago I came across a post from Pat Metheny, where he explains how he obtained his signature chorus-like sound, which is created “in the air” between stereo speakers and not by any kind of chorus pedal and fattens up his tone. He wrote (slightly edited; the full thread is at https://www.patmetheny.com/qa/questionView.cfm?queID=56)
“… the output of the amp is run into 2 lexicon prime-time digital delay lines, one on my left at 14 ms delay, one one my right at 26 ms delay. Each delay has a very slight “pitch bend” controlled by the VCO (sine wave) inside the prime-time. this is what gives it the “chorused” thing…”
With the Eventide Micropitch I was hoping to emulate this setup. However, up to now I am unable to figure out how to exactly dial in the 14ms and 26ms delay times mentioned. Instead, it seems that delay times are encoded in a 0…127 scale. How does this translate to actual ms? And has anyone managed to emulate a setup similar to what Pat is describing in his post with the Micropitch?
Any help is appreciated.

Hello,
Using the H90 Control app you can dial in the exact ms values: https://cdn.eventideaudio.com/manuals/h90/1.9.7/content/h90-control/dot9.html
Option+click and drag the parameter for fine parameter adjustments.
You can use the depth parameter to achieve the slight pitch modulation.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for your kind answer.
I tried to make the H90 control app work with my MicroPitch. However, it seems that the software did not recognize the MicroPitch pedal but – as its name implies – was waiting for a H90 to be connected vial USB. Any suggestions?

You’re welcome.
Please see #3 on the list here: https://cdn.eventideaudio.com/manuals/h90/1.9.7/content/h90-control/home.html
If you connect your stompbox to the computer via USB, it should show up when you click “Add Device”. After that, you should be all set.

I read the same interview last year!
I’m attaching a screen shot of an H90 program I came up with based on that interview. I think it woks great.
Good luck!

Dear apalazzolo,
wow, thanks! This is super helpful! Also thanks to the Eventide staff for helping a newbie out. This may very well become my favorite gear forum. 🙂
Kind regards,
Andi
