Hello everyone,
I’d like to try my H90 pedal as an aux effect with my mixing console (in “kill dry” mode).
Can I expect any audible difference if the FX send feeding the H90 is layed out in stereo or if it’s mono (which would save me a mixing bus)?E.g. if an instrument is panned hard left and sent to the pedal’s IN 1&2 (stereo), would the resulting reverb, or any other effect, also be “panned” somehow?
Thank you.

Hello,
The H90 will automatically process your signal in mono or stereo, or mono in > stereo out / stereo in > mono out. This is all configured depending on which physical inputs/outputs are connected to the H90.
The most noticeable difference will be whether you are using the stereo output of the H90 or not (the effects will produce a nice stereo image when you are using stereo outputs). Some effects (certain delays, Harmonizers, etc) have individual delay lines for the L/R channels. So if you are using the pedal with a stereo input/output, and you only send a signal to the left input, you will only be using the left channels effects processing.
I would suggest giving your setup a shot and trying a few programs/presets that use various algorithms and see how you like it.
Let me know if that answers your question.

Hello,
thanks, but what you explained was already clear.
My question is:
Do the effects produce a different wet signal with “mono in => stereo out” than with “stereo in => stereo out”?
Or in other words: does then pan position of the incoming signal make any difference to the pure effect signal? -

In certain situations, yes the panning of the input source will make a difference for how the effects processing works. I mentioned this in my original response:
“Some effects (certain delays, Harmonizers, etc) have individual delay lines for the L/R channels. So if you are using the pedal with a stereo input/output, and you only send a signal to the left input, you will only be using the left channels effects processing.”

I see.
So it seems for the majority of algorithms, using a stereo input would have no major impact (which is good in my case).
Thank you! -

You’re welcome.
Yes, I don’t anticipate that you will run into any issues. Just try a few variations of Presets/Programs with different effects with the setup to confirm it works for you.
