WOuld it be technically possible to do all of the knife drop sounds in the H90 ? Or is there something different in the analog domain there ?

The Knife Drop pedal was born of the “Knife Drop” Program 32 on the H90 that consists of the Hotsawz algorithm and the CrushStation algorithm. With input from Third Man Hardware and Jack White, the effect was refined by simplifying the controls and enhancing the distortion and octaver. The H90, on the other hand, offers way more control over the synth sound with the HotSawz algorithn offering a greater variety of envelope assignment options, oscillator combinations, detuning, and gate options. The Knife Drop pedal offers easier control over the octaves selection, offers a versatile distortion that goes from overdrive to gnarly fuzz, and allows you to control the position of the filter, which opens up greater sonic possibilities, something the HotSawz algorithm doesn’t do. I would say there’s about an 80% overlap. There are sounds the Knife Drop pedal can achieve that the H90 cannot and vice versa.

Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. Jack White is a big influence of mine so I might put this on my wishlist for this year then 🙂

Knife drop is total digital, or fuzz/drive and/or filter is analog?

The synthesizer and fuzz/drive are modeled off of some classic analog sounds and circuits, but the pedal is fully digital.
