Is there a way on the H9 to assign a CC to control the Hot Knob? I’ve been searching everywhere and the only thing I see is “set expression pedal (aka HotKnob) max value?” — but when I assign that CC, it doesn’t control the Hot Knob parameter. However, when I tick “EXP controls output volume,” the CC does control the overall output volume of the pedal. So now I’m totally confused. It looks like the H9 “sees” the CC and treats it like an expression pedal, but for the life of me, I can’t get it to control the Hot Knob directly.

Hello,
The “set expression pedal (aka HotKnob) max value” is the parameter that you should assign the CC to. If you assign this CC to the parameter and adjust the CC, you should see the parameters that are mapped to the hot knob update on the pedal UI and in H9 Control. Note that in H9 Control the ribbon control will not move, and on the pedal UI you will not see “HOT +” which normally shows up when adjusting the hot knob using the jog wheel. However, the CC will still adjust whatever parameters are mapped to the hot knob, the easiest way to confirm this is viewing the parameters change in H9 Control.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you. It’s working now. It was a little bit confusing – when HOT+ and ribbon control weren’t moving 🙂
I have one more request – is there an option for the HOT SWITCH to have two distinct states controlled via MIDI CC? For example: CC value 0 = OFF, CC value 127 = ON. Right now, any CC value simply toggles the switch, which makes it completely useless in this case – the states often get out of sync with my MIDI controller.

Sorry, there are no discrete on/off values for MIDI control of the perform/HotSwitch. A value of 64 or higher will always toggle whatever the current state is to the other state (on or off).

Maybe you could add this feature with software update?

Sorry, we won’t be adding any new features to the H9.
