VocalShiftMIDI: Turn Your Voice into a Choir
Ever wanted to play your own backing vocals? VocalShiftMIDI lets you. Connect a MIDI keyboard and suddenly you can play in harmonized versions of yourself. Built on the same pitch-shifting legacy that created the original Harmonizer back in 1975, this algorithm brings five decades of vocal processing expertise to your fingertips. Play vocal cords, create beautiful countermelodies, or build complex vocal arrangements in real-time with the precision of a keyboard and the organic character of your voice.
Strike the perfect balance between lead and choir with Unison Mix to easily blend between your solo voice and the four harmony voices. Need a hand? Activate Hold and the H90 will indefinitely sustain whatever notes you’re playing on the keyboard. Press Freeze and you can literally play your voice like a synthesizer, performing vocal textures live in real-time.
The built-in gate keeps everything tight with adjustable Threshold, Attack, and Release. Dial in the onboard Vibrato to add natural movement, add Delay for space, or use the Formant control to shift your harmonies from human to otherworldly. You can even set up pitch bend ranges and use velocity control to make your harmonies respond dynamically to how hard you play the keys. It’s like having a full choir that responds to your every musical whim.
Quadravox+: Vocal Patterns that Groove
What if your voice could create its own rhythmic dialogue? Quadravox+ gives you command of four rhythmic repeats to instantly turn your vocals into infectious arpeggios. Based on the same diatonic pitch-shifted delay that powers Quadravox, this four-voice algorithm creates the same distinctive pitched repeat patterns, but with a more natural formant character tuned to the human voice. It’s perfect for those iconic arp-style vocal repeats that turn certain tracks into instant classics.
Take control of your sound with independent pitch and formant control per voice, allowing you to create everything from tight cluster harmonies to wide-spread vocal pads. Unison Mix once again lets you blend your original voice with the processed signal, in this case the arpeggio pattern.
The real fun starts with the delay patterns. Instead of tired, evenly spaced repeats, you can create custom rhythmic patterns from a single knob using an ABCD system: maybe three quick hits followed by a longer pause, or a more staggered timing that creates a natural sense of movement. Performance glide adds portamento so your vocal arpeggios flow between pitches.
Need more low-end presence? Auto EQ instantly adds weight to your vocals. Want to spread things across the stereo field? The panning control uses the same ABCD system to get each voice exactly where you want it. Do your vocals need a little more weight in the mix? Quickly boost low-end presence with Auto EQ. You can also easily tune each of the four voices with independent pitch and formant control.
