Hello! I just bought 2 used H9 and I am trying to configure the MIDI routing, but I think I am making something wrong.
On my pedalboard I have the following MIDI routing:
Midi Capitain pedalboard -> H9 Max -> H9 Core -> Dimehead NAM Player.
I configured the H9 Max to send the MIDI Clock and the H9 Core to receive the MIDI Clock from MIDI.
The issue is that:
If I set the H9 Max OUTPUT MIDI to “THRU+C”, the tempo from the MAX is correctly sent to the Core but the program change is not working, so the presets are changing just on H9 Max when I use the Midi Capitain, no preset change on Core and Dimehead.
If I set the H9 Max OUTPUT MIDI to “THRU”, the tempo from the Max IS NOT sent to the Core, but when I use the Midi Capitain to send PC, all 3 devices correctly switch the presets.
Is there something I am missing?
I would like to have the same tempo on both H9 (so I use TAP on the Max only) but I need also to change the presets on all the 3 devices.
Any suggestion?
Thank you!

Hello Vants,
Are the H9 Core and Dimehead pedals set to their own MIDI Receive channel? If so, are you transmitting your PC message on all channels from the MIDI Captain controller? It sounds like maybe you’re only sending a PC command on solely the channel that corresponds to the H9 Max.

Hi,
thanks for the answer.
The MIDI channel is the same for all the devices. When I just switch the MIDI OUTPUT to “THRU”, the presets are changing on all devices and this makes me think the wiring and the configuration are correct. It is like the message sent as THRU+C is just the clock info and not the PC forwarded from the pedalboard.

Things are working correctly for me when using THRU+C with two H9s. Can you take screen shots of your MIDI settings from H9 Control for both pedals to see what else could be the problem?

I don’t have yet the access to H9 Control since I am waiting the Support to deregister the serials from previous owner’s account, already sent them the serials photo. Once I have access I will share the configuration here.
I already performed a reset to factory settings so I started from scratch.Glad that for you is working, hopefully we will find what I am missing 🙂
thank you!
