Having a problem. For a long time I had my ML10X and pedalboard set up so that the ML10X tip input/output ran through some pedals, including into and out of my H90 (on input 1 and output 1 on one of the ML10X’s loops, C ring for what it is worth).

        Then I ran the the ML10X ring input/output through my H90’s insert loop. H90 output 3 –> ML10X ring input and ML10X ring output –> H90 input 3.

        This worked.

I rewired the board recently (to use sleeker insert cables), and I tried to keep everything as is. But I’m getting unexpected behavior. Essentially, whether or not the H90’s effects are applied to my depends on where the insert is in the H90’s routing menu. If the insert is placed before both effects of the H90, I hear both H90 effects. If the insert is between them, I only hear the latter effect. If the insert is after them, I don’t hear either effect.

I cannot wrap my mind around why this is happening, it doesn’t make any sense. Any suggestions?

Sorry, I’m not sure what the intended outcome of your setup is.

If you are using the ML10X as your loop switcher, I would suggest using Dual Mode: https://cdn.eventideaudio.com/manuals/h90/1.12.5/content/edit-modes/routing.html#dual-routing

Connect 1 loop to H90 input/output 1, connect another loop to H90 input/output 3. This will allow you to place either H90 effect at whatever point in the signal chain you like.

Using the ML10X as I had suggested allows me to free up an additional loop as compared to running the H90 in Dual Mode, because instead of 2 ML10X loops for the H90, I can use one loop + the second audio path on the ML10X (which would otherwise go unused in my mono signal).

I have finally determined that the culprit is the ML10X firmware.  I updated the firmware of everything I could at the same time I rewired my board.  Today, I reverted to an earlier ML10X firmware and got the intended results.

I did not know whether the issue was with Eventide or Morningstar, but it appears to be the latter, and I am reaching out to Morningstar.
