        Hi folks,

Has anyone had any luck with sending MIDI from their DAW to Music Mouse and back into their DAW?

I’m currently in touch with support about this but thought I might see if anyone else had had any luck with this.

From what I can see it looks like MIDI is not being returned from MM, when I use the same track routing and MacOS’s internal IAC bus there is no issue with sending/receiving MIDI.

Have tried using Ableton and Bitwig with no result and also tried routing MIDI through the IAC buss in and out of MM but no dice.

          Hi!

I’m able to send MIDI to Ableton Live 12 on a Mac running OS 12.

The MIDI track is set to receive MIDI from Music Mouse, which Live obviously recognizes.

Music Mouse responds to Live’s tempo setting.

Music Mouse’s Destination setting is set to Network Remote.

So far I have not figured out how MM receives MIDI, although it does recognize my Komplete keyboard controller.

I’m not sure what MIDI input would do. It seems like one would need an XY control surface to move all four voices.

I should clarify what I’m trying to do – I’m hoping to get Music Mouse to spit out the harmonised notes that I’m sending to it from my DAW. I’d imagine that this is possible due to MM having MIDI in/out capability but it seems like this use case is not something MM is designed to do. Might have to put in a feature request.

FWIW, I can also get MIDI into my DAW when using the mouse to trigger the keyboard directly within MM so I might just have to use MM to generate harmonies then copy the notes into my DAW for the time being.

            Thanks for the reply.

For my part, I can’t tell precisely how a MIDI ‘source’ might interact with MM.

An X/Y controller would seem like the most obvious thing .

Perhaps one could send MIDI CC to change the sound source, or scale mode.

It’s too bad the manual has no information about how MM sends or receives MIDI.

Please post here again if you make any headway and I’ll do the same.

Music Mouse cannot receive MIDI Note messages, which explains why you’re having issues with the setup. Music Mouse’s MIDI In port only receives MIDI Clock messages.

re:  “Select a MIDI port to send MIDI messages generated by Music Mouse.”

On my Windows 11 Pro x64 system, I don’t see anything in the list of destinations offered that will send the MIDI from the App to my DAW  (Fender Studio Pro 8.)  Most of the choices are MIDI outputs – not a destination for a signal:  KeyLab mkll 61, 2-UMC204HD 192k MIDI Out, LoopBE Internal MIDI, Sparrow 3×100, MIDIOUT2 (KeyLab mkll 61), Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth.

Also, why is there no choice for the Sample rate? My DAW, and all its plug-ins, are running 41000 Hz – that’s not a choice in your App.
