Hi,
I would like to express my interest in the following, related, proposals:
1. having an option to disable knob catchup in the looper mode
2. having an option to disable the behaviour where the varispeed resolution returns to octaves on each newly recorded loop
3. giving us access to the full range of speeds even while the loop is empty– Would make it possible to make accurate assignments of expression pedal to pitch for the loop you are about to record, before any loop is recorded
– Would make it possible to e.g. pitch the loop *down* a fifth in octave + fifth mode by starting recording at 150% (and generally be a bit more flexible with the varispeed)
– Would make it possible to start a new loop and immediately have the pedal control pitch in the same varispeed resolution as the previous loop
– In general just getting to modify parameters (e.g. loop start/end points) without having to first twist the knobs all the way to one sideThe varispeed implementation on the tf is already really great, and the main reason I bought it over some other loopers out there, but some of the guardrails (which are totally understandable for 90% of usecases) get just a bit in the way when trying to get most out of it.

Hello,
Thanks for your post. You may be interested in the looper on the H90 since it has been updated to include all of these improvements.
- Catchup is not needed on the H90.
- The varispeed resolution can be set before recording a loop and will autoplay back with that setting remaining.
- Record Speed and Play Speed are now independent parameters and you can access the full range before recording a loop.
We are unable to implement these updates for the TimeFactor, so the H90 would be your best option if you need these features. Plus, you get an additional algorithm to put before or after the looper which really opens up the possibilities. Or, you could use 2 loopers at once.

Hi, thanks for your response and the info about the H90. I had already noticed some, but not all, of those features. Maybe one day… 🙂
Too bad you cannot apply some of those improvements to the TF too, but I guess you have to call a product “done” at some point.
Have a great day.

For anyone reading along, I found that it is possible to work around knob catchup in the looper by using a midi loopack cable from tf out to in. Looks a bit silly but it works 😀 just make sure the rcv and xmt are configured correctly, on the same channel and with the same ccs for kb0..9.
