Hi. I’m trying to retrigger the sample/hold LFO waveform for the phaser, but it doesn’t appear to be working. With both synced and unsynced timing, hitting retrigger has no effect. When using different waveforms like Square or Ramp, it works as expected. Am I missing any additional setting for S/H, or is it simply not implemented for that waveform? If so, could it be added in a future release?

I tried this out last evening, in the Phaser & Flanger, tempo sync or not. at both the default Fast and Slow speed options.  I do believe you are absolutely correct, and I’m not sure why I haven’t realized this before.  As to the ‘why’, I don’t know.  Maybe it has to do with how the randomness (or pseudo-random waveform) gets generated before sampling it?

Hi, sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

The Random and S&H waveforms will not retrigger because these are both nondeterministic waveforms and there is no specific state to be reset to.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I totally agree about the Random waveform being nondeterministic, but I think for S&H the situation is a little different. There’s definitely a state, not regarding the sampled value itself, but regarding the timing. Being able to reset the waveform manually (to the point where a new value is sampled) can be useful to keep in sync with external timing events (like a drummer). It would be great if that functionality could be added.

That’s a good point. I can log this as a feature request and let you know if we are able to add this in a future update.
