        Hey guys, we were talking about this a few days ago on TGP, and I even sent a support email to Eventide, but I’d still like to hear what you dedicated users think. I love phasers—I think they’re my favourite modulation effects—and the Biphase, in particular, is my absolute favourite because its notches are right where they need to be and blend perfectly with the guitar frequencies without getting into harsh territories, even at max feedback\depth. I was really excited when I got the H90 to try out the Biphase emulation, but when I did, I was a little disappointed especially because, from what little you can hear, the Biphase’s EQ and notch placement seem to be incredibly close to those of the original, which is extremely rare in emulations.

        It seems to me that the depth parameter is capped to a very shallow oscillation, even when set to maximum, and it doesn’t feel like a stylistic choice but rather something that shouldn’t behave that way, as if there were a bug or something, because the effect in a mix and without paying isolated attention is practically non-audible. It seems to share the same issue with the PhaseX0 type, but not with the other “Types”. With PhaseX0 I tried to increase stages and still the “issue” seems to be there, which is odd. I also tried to stack in series two Biphase types, and the effect still feels underwhelmingly non-present.

        I recorded a quick comparison on Reaper to let you hear what I hear. The settings are all shared: max feedback, max depth, same speed and so on

        What you hear is:
        00:03 \ 00:12 – x2 stacked Type: Positive 
        00:13 \ 00:26 x1Type: Positive 

        00:27 \ 00:40 – x2 stacked Type: Biphase (forward)
        00:41 \ end – 1x Type: Biphase (forward)
