I've been using the cheap-o M-Audio EX.P expression pedal here with mine and it works just fine. it ain't the most sturdy thing out there to be sure – you get what you pay for in terms if build quality – but for my studio needs it's been working out very nicely for me. 
Were I planning on using it for a rougher live/road environment I'd probably opt for something sturdier, though.
