What do you need this midi controller to do? How many presets do you need to access, how many units will it be controlling, are all the units you're looking to control have midi capabilities, do you need to be able to turn on/off individual units and/or effects from the foot controller, do you have any space limitation and what's your budget?
Sorry for the barrage of questions but I think this would help in terms of providing a good list potentially suitable midi controllers for you.
I personally have a RJM Mastermind and Disaster Area DMC-8 and DPC-5, all depending on the situation I'm in.
