I'm going to take out the reverb and the chorus. Is it fair to assume that the DSP power is used whether or not you use one of the VirtRacks algorithms? There are some ProTools plugins like Guitar Rig that do not use the CPU if you turn them off (without removing them from the Insert channel).
I think I'm going to assemble a module carefully by only taking the pieces that I need. It'll be a good learning curve anyways.
