Mike – Thanks for the reply and suggestions. As it turns out I was able to fix the issue based on @flamefork’s suggestion in the thread. Just for the heck of it I moved my H9 and sat it next to my Mac and they were able to connect. So problem solved.
From an engineering perspective this raises an issue about the blutetooth radio implementation in the H9. In its regular placement the H9 is no more than two feet away from my mac. That’s well within standard bluetooth range. The fact that the H9 shows up during bluetooth discovery shows that the Mac is able to see the signal. However, there appears to be some interference or signal issue which prevents the connection/authentication protocol from completing successfully.
It remains to be seen how reliable the BT connection remains now that the H( is back in its regular location.
