MIDI is easy, you can learn it, and the Boss can control the H9.
The H9 has a switchable option for true-bypass. You lose reverb tails though, for obvious reasons.
You are correct, one Algo at a time.
The Dirts are fine, FOR DIGITAL. there are some gnarly options.. but I use different pedals, beacuse anaolg gainstages are better.
In re your other questions: YOU SHOULD EVALUATE THE PEDAL BASED ON WHAT IT DOES TODAY.
Assume NO support.. (although Eventide has awesome support), and assume NO updates (although there is maybe one a year?).
It is worth it based on what it can do right now, if you ask me. People get hung up on the future possibilities as if it is a dating site or something.. but it is a stomp-box. It does what it does 🙂 If there are additional algos released- bonus, but you arent buying ~them~, you are buying what exisits today..
