Hello MirageIndigo,
now looking at porting or cloning over all my old H9 presets into the new program structure.
It’s possible to create a list on H9 Control and export it. Then, import it using H90 Control so you can build new programs based on all your H9 sounds.
My current plan is to lease on algo in reverb or rever + delay most of the time and put the other block into whatever mode is needed for whatever sound I’m going for. So I’ll have 4 dedicated buttons for driving the H90 while performing: TAP temp (which only does tap tempo), a “perform switch” similar to the H9’s fast/slow button, then two buttons that do “cycle between states” on each algo. So one button could have a loop of three snapshot states that cycled between “a ittle bit”, “a bit more” and “way too much” of an effect mix.
Are you familiar with Perform mode? When you press the PERFORM knob, you have two pages of 3 switches you can assign to things like act/byp states, performance switches, tap tempo, or hotswitches.
First Question: How are people assigning MIDI to the hot knobs, quick knobs and hot switches?
In the System menu > MIDI > MIDI-Global Control (3rd page) you can assign controller change numbers (CC#) to all of these. If you prefer to use the H90 Control app, you can find assignments in System > External Control.
Second question: In H9 land, I had a “performance switch” for things like fast/slow on speed effects and freeze in delays. Is there an analogous control in H90?
Yes, in Perform mode, using the LED button above the footswitch of the preset slot the algorithm is on (A or B) you can assign it to the performance function. So, for example, if you have the Rotary algorithm in the Preset B slot, you press the B LED button consecutively in Perform mode to assign any one of Brake, Speed, Brake/Speed, or Retrigger functions to that footswitch.
