In Performance Mode, what is the best method to record a loop at normal speed, and then have the playback speed assigned to the Hot Knob so that you can increase OR decrease the speed? Currently I have a Looper set to – Max Length: 60 Sec / Rec Speed: 2X / Resolution: Smooth / Play Speed: 200.
With Play Speed set to 200, which is maxed out, there is no way for the playback speed to go faster. For this to work, I would set Play Speed to 100, which is the normal starting off point for a basic loop. I would set your record speed to 1X. You will need to readjust your Max Length back to 60 sec. (because adjusting the Rec Speed changes the length).
After I hit REC and then PLAY on the foot switches, the HK P reads 100 and I can slow down the loop by reducing that number, but I cannot speed up the loop.
Because a parameter like Play Speed has an unusual range of values from -200 to paused to 200, I would not recommend using the Hotknob to control it. Use a Quick Knob assigned to Play Speed and you will find you can go in any direction and with more precision.
