I spent hours trying to deduce the role of various knobs and their interactions with each other. Often, there were surprising and serious limits of utility for a given parameter (as opposed to “to taste”). For example, here, that “Swell” parameter has a usable range of about 1-on-the-dial.
But, while I don’t even use this Slow Gear type of effect, I have applied this experience to larger swell/pads programs quite a bit.
