Because Quadravox was not designed to harmonize non-scale tones there is no solid explanation I can provide regarding the “decisions” the algorithm makes under these conditions. It would be best to stick to scale tones to avoid this entirely.
“So does that mean there are other devices that support this? Like if I picked up an H90 or H9 I could run one of those and achieve the effect I’m seeking?”
While the H9, H90 and the new H9 Harmonizer Gen 2 all have algorithms that support key quantization this does not currently extend to pentatonic scales.
