Dear Community, dear Support Team,
I am reporting a severe stability issue involving an expired Eventide Harmonizer plugin (iLok-protected) under macOS Tahoe 26.2 and Ableton Live 12.5.3.
The expired trial did not trigger a simple license error but caused a complete UI freeze of the DAW.
- Process Flood: The system was overwhelmed by dozens of PluginLibraryService instances.
- CPU Spike: Ableton Live remained unresponsive at over 50% CPU load.
- Invisible Dialogs: Due to macOS Tahoe’s window management, no license warning was displayed, leaving the entire application in a “dead” state.
It is unacceptable that a third-party license expiration can take an entire professional workstation hostage. I request better sandboxing and error handling to prevent such critical hangs.
Best regards, Folkert

Thanks for contacting us. We understand your frustration. We think this is likely a PACE issue, as the dialog is created and managed by PACE’s software. Could you try updating to the most current version of iLok License Manager and let us know whether this resolves the issue?

I’m cooperative. I’ve done what was requirement, but without success. The issue is deeper, then expected and not solved by installing the newest iLok License Manager. How? What is really going on? Seems it doesn’t know, really what it’s doing! Now I will use the uninstallers to see if issue is solved! I hope!

Screen video! – I see black screen, mouse moving. Sometimes I feel MacOS Tahoe 26.2 hates me more than everything else. I’m sorry for that issue with MacOS, too. I’ll repeat it later. promised!
