Had an H9 for about 5 years. Every once in a while it will just stop sending effects to the outs.

It not part of a pedalboard.  It’s on a shelf. Nobody is stepping on bypass.

        No its not in bypass.

I can turn up the gain until I hear digital noise but nothing.

        Tried;

        enabling/disabling bypass,

        changing bypass mode,

        changing kill dry,

        power cycling the pedal,

        reloading the preset,

        enabling/disabling global mix.

        Nothing works.

This happens a couple times a year and I never have found a solution. It will just start working again sometimes.

Now cannot use this to play out because I can’t trust it to be there.

And worse I have no SOP to recover from this effectless state.

Sorry this is happening. This definitely sounds like the pedal is malfunctioning. Have you contacted our support team? Please email support@eventideaudio.com with this enquiry. If you can, send them a video of the behavior when it happens. They can take you through some steps to troubleshoot and ultimately determine what can be done.

Ok weird I swear I replied to this already.

I tried previously to work with support but the way it locks up and stops ‘effecting’ is hard to reproduce. I’ve yet to nail down what I’m doing that causes it.

I can say that it happens with both my little Mackie 1202 and my little SSL Xdesk when it’s in a send. And it happens when I just plug a synth or something directly into it.

Usually it get stuck and will stay that way even when unplugging and re-plugging the power. But if I leave it alone for a day or 3 it usually comes back.

I swear a few years ago I read something on the forum about changing a setting to wake it up.

But I can’t find that forum post. H9 searches also bring H90 and H9000 along for the ride.
