So I made 11 user presets. I moved to 4 cable method and changed to DUAL in global routing. All my presets in USER 2 became INIT.
I had backed up the presets using H90 Control prior to making the DUAL setting however reloading the file and then changing to DUAL deletes them again.
What is going on?
Latest firmware. New unit.

Presets in the 2 modes are mutually exclusive, ie you get a different set of presets for Dual mode as you do in insert mode. Any user presets made in insert mode will not be available in dual mode and you’ll have to redo them.

Sorry, that’s a big thing. If you świtch back, are presets recovered?

Presets are preserved when you switch modes. I’ve done it many times.

You’ve lost nothing by switching to Dual Mode, all the Programs and Presets from your lists are still there. If you want to convert a List to Dual Mode, you should do the following:
1. Use H90 Control to export your List to your computer.
2. Switch to Dual Routing on the H90 Pedal (be careful to follow instructions and make sure your cables are in routed correctly to prevent feedback loops)
3. Use H90 Control to re-import your List
4. H90 Control will prompt you to agree to convert the Programs to Dual Routing, click OKAll your programs should now exist in Dual Routing Path A, feel free to edit as you like, you won’t mess up your original Insert Routing Mode counterpart.

Perfect. Thanks, All.

So, export. Change to dual. Import. Agree. I’ll try later today.
There really should be a warning in the UI about this when the user is committing the change.

Still have yet to wrap my head around that. If at present I am using h90 with stereo input going through both onboard effects and want to change that so that one two goes into one effect and three four into another, will that require migration of the presets?

The change of the factory data only happens when you switch the pedal from Insert Mode to Dual Mode.
You may use Dual Mode with a stereo input and have both presets on Path 1. You may then switch your routing to use dual paths if you like.
You only need to use Insert Mode if you’d like to use external pedals in the insert path. Otherwise, I would stick to Dual Mode and you don’t have to worry about this.

So no joy so far.
1. I exported my pre-sets using H90 Control and it created a file “XC-20073_Backup.h90”
2. I switched to DUAL routing
3. I try to reimport the exported file but the import function is looking for a different extension being “.lst90”
This has been pretty frustrating.
So far my pre-sets have been ruined by the question mark bug and also the switch to DUAL routing and I am hesitant to do any more programming.
Is there a manual for H90 Control?

@wedelich that did not work. Please see above and also note clicking the hamburger icon and restoring the device switches it back to dual. And note that the IMPORT function is looking for a different file extension. I have opened a support ticket as so far my experience with the H90 has been very frustrating combined with the question mark naming bug.

I think I see the confusion here. @tbskoglund provided better context that I should have with H90 Control Manual links.
You indeed did a back up of the whole pedal, and did not export the Program List. A Program List has the extension .lst90.
It’s important to get terminology exactly correct. I should have been more specific about what a Program List was. To that end: H90 has Program Lists, not Preset Lists. Check out the “Anatomy of a Program” diagram on pg. 1 of the QRG (https://cdn.eventideaudio.com/uploads/2022/11/H90-QRG-141360-Rev-A.pdf) to understand the difference. After that check out “The Playlist” on pg. 4. This section of the manual is also informative -> https://cdn.eventideaudio.com/manuals/h90/1.12.5/content/terminology.html
It’s a deep device with lots of information to organize, but hopefully rewarding in the mastery of it all. Let us know how you’re getting on with it.

The H90 Control section of the manual is here: https://cdn.eventideaudio.com/manuals/h90/1.12.5/content/h90-control/index.html
There is a note the explains how to convert the mode of your Programs or List here: https://cdn.eventideaudio.com/manuals/h90/1.12.5/content/edit-modes/routing.html
You do not want to create a backup of your H90. You want to export the individual Programs or export a Program list, change your routing, and then import those files.
See #4 here for exporting a Program: https://cdn.eventideaudio.com/manuals/h90/1.12.5/content/h90-control/edit.html
See #7-8 for exporting/importing a Program list.

Thanks very much. I had some time away from playing but am getting back into it now. Got another issue though, made a new post 😉
