        Hi All,

I’ve loved my H9s for years, but the capabilities of the H90 have me ready to upgrade. I just have a question about the ability to run my effects in two different spots on my board.

For reference, my board (wet effects, in stereo): Strymon Mobius -> H9 (for modulation) -> Strymon Timeline -> Second H9 (for delay/reverb) -> Strymon Bigsky -> Amp

I’m wondering if I am able to get one H90, and wire the 4 I/Os in a way that ins and outs 1/2 are in the place of my first H9, and ins and outs 3/4 are in the place of my second H9. This would allow me to run mod effects before my delay one, and reverb effects after my delay one.

Additionally, assuming this is possible, would I then be able to map my effect choices to be in position A (I/O 1/2) or position B (I/O 3/4)?

I hope this is clear – not sure if it is for me to be honest. Hope this is possible.

        Thanks in advance!

          Hi zperry94,

Yes, this is possible with the H90. Use Dual routing mode. This way, the H90 behaves like two independent mono or stereo effects processors. On a Program basis, you’ll be able to have one or two algorithms in place of your H9-1 or H9-2, or one effect on each.

To gain a better understanding of dual mode, you may want to study this video: https://youtu.be/0G_WtfUatSc?si=o4chDWbKg1Altt5U

              Joe,

Thank you for this information and the quick response. this is exactly what I was looking for. I’ll watch the video for a more in-depth understanding, but this is incredible

I’m struggling to setup dual routing and incorporate dual amp simulator for my Left and Right channels. My wet effects are in stereo ins/outs, but the example provided seems for mono dual routing. Please advice. Thanks

Can you please provide more information about what you are struggling with?

What is the signal flow of your setup and where are you having issues?

What is the end goal for your setup?

I was following this diagram from Eventide H90 tutorial

                    and came up with mine:

                    Screenshot 2025-06-02 at 13.10.31

My wet effects pedals have stereo ins/outs and I would like to leverage them.

My EQ also is in stereo that can be split into individual channels ins/outs, channel 1 and channel 2.

In my diagram above, I can only use channel as there are not much ports in H90 for that for my post wet effects.

                    My questions are:

                    • If I want to be able to move my dry/wet effects (front/back of the amps) anytime I want, is my diagram correct?
                    • I have another stereo delay pedal, where can put them following the H90’s dual routing tutorial?
                    • I also have channel 2 not in use for my EQ, how can I leverage them?

                    I really appreciate your help.

                    Thank you so much.

Or is it possible to do Inserts 1 for dry, insert 2 for wet with stereo ins/out and able to do pre/post wet effects? How can we do that?

                    I appreciate your help. Thanks

To do this, you would have to switch the H90 to Insert Routing mode. The advantage is you get two insert loops you can place anywhere in the chain. I don’t recommend this for because you’re running stereo wet effects and the independent inserts on the H90 run in mono. There is a stereo insert but it combines I/O 3&4 causing you to lose one insert point.

Your diagram is correct for a Pre/Post configuration using the H90’s Dual routing mode. Keep in mind you will only have control over the H90’s preset positioning, not your dry effects chain before the H90 or the wet chain after the H90; those will stay in the same position no matter what. If I/O 1&2 is Path A (PRE) and I/O 3&4 is Path B (POST), you can always place an H90 gain-based effect last in your dry chain or first in your wet chain. Or, you can put a wet effect last in the dry chain or first in your wet chain. Or, you can put two effects in parallel last in your dry chain or first in your wet chain.

I have another stereo delay pedal, where can put them following the H90’s dual routing tutorial?

If we still go by your diagram, I would place it before your reverb.

I also have channel 2 not in use for my EQ, how can I leverage them?

It depends where you need the EQ the most. Right now, it’s last in your dry effect chain which is entirely mono. You could wire the second channel of the EQ before the compressor. Using a mono EQ after the stereo output of Path B doesn’t make sense.
