Hi,
I’m having some issues with the H90 and using Inputs/Outputs 1/2 and 3/4 simultaneously. I have set the H90 to dual routing and all my inputs to line.
I have connected my send 1 L/R from Xone96 to input 1/2 on H90 and from Output 1/2 from H90 to my return A L/R. This has been working perfectly fine without any issues on path 1 with effects in series, parallel or disabled. I’m trying to set up path 2 from Master send on the Xone L/R to Input 3/4 on the H90, and Output 3/4 from the H90 to Master Return on the Xone. When this is connected I only get sound through Output 3 from the H90 which in turn makes it only send to either L or R on my Xone if I have any effect on path 2. If I only have effects on path 1, both L/R works fine, and if I disconnect the output 4 cable in my Xone I get signal in both cables. It also affects the signal from path 1 as I only get sound in one of L/R no matter the configuration.I have also tried to set up Input/Output 3/4 to my send 2 and return B on the Xone, I then only get signal on one channel when both cables are connected.

Hello coffie,
What version of the firmware are you working with on the H90? If you’re on 1.10.7.230, can you go into the System Menu > I/O > make sure Output Mode (5th page on pedal) is set to Auto, not Force Mono.

Hi joecozzi,
I’m on version 1.10.7.230 and I have had Output Mode set to auto all the time. I have also all the Inputs and Ouputs set to Line if that matters

Let’s try a few things,
- Can you send me a picture of your Routing mode? I want to double check you’re on Dual Routing mode.
- Put THRU utility algorithms on both Path 1 and Path 2 just to test you’re passing audio through. I recommend using an INIT Program on User 2 list. That’s the most basic starting point of a program on the H90.
- Make absolutely certain that
SND L on the XONE is going to IN 3 on the H90.
SND R on the XONE is going to IN 4.
Out 3 on H90 is going to RTN L on XONE.
Out 4 on H90 is going to RTN R on XONE.
It’s not uncommon to make the wrong connections. If that does not solve the problem… - Disconnect Path 1 (I/O 1/2) from Send A on the mixer and use the same cables to hook up Path 2 (I/O 3&4) to Send A. Do you still encounter a problem? If not, try the other set of cables again. Perhaps you have a messed up cable?
Let’s start there.

I have tested all the cables, and tried to swap everything between send/rtn A & B plus master channel. I have also tried an INIT program from User 2. Right now I have connected I/O 3/4 to send 2 and return B on the Xone mixer. When trying to send I can see only left channel gets an increase in signal.

At this point it would be best to contact support@eventideaudio.com for further troubleshooting. After you explain the issue, point them to this forum thread so they can see what we’ve tried. While you wait for a response, I would try some other things to rule out a hardware problem with the H90
- Do you have another device you can connect to the H90’s I/O 3&4 like a synthesizer or a drum machine? I would try to see if the H90 passes stereo audio through with another device. You could even bypass using your mixer’s send/return loops and go Master out to H90 and connect that to a PA. If it does not pass stereo audio through I/O 3&4, it’s a strong indication it could be a hardware issue.
- If you have not created any custom Programs or presets, conduct a factory reset of the H90 to see if it clears things up. Maybe there’s some internal settings I’m forgetting to check. You could back up your Programs then try the reset. After the reset, go back into Dual Mode to test out I/O 3&4 again.
