Let’s say I have program #1 loaded and I change the amount of delay with an expression pedal. Then I change to program #2 and back to program #1. Instead of going back to the default preset value, it goes to the last amount of delay I left it at with the expression pedal. Is there a setting to have it go back to the default?

        Example:
        Program #1 default value 112
Changed to 162 with expression pedal
Go to program #2 and return to program #1 it lands at 162, when I want it to go back to 112.

        Thanks.

Parameter value is supposed to go back to the stored value once you switch back to the original Program. The only way it doesn’t is if it senses movement on the EXP input. What algorithm are you using? How do you have it mapped, parameter directly to the expression or parameter to a hotknob that is mapped to an expression?

It’s mapped directly to the expression pedal, not very fancy, really. I keep wondering if there’s an overall setting that I’m missing.

There’s no setting that preserves values across Programs like that.

              1. What algorithm are you using?
              2. Does this happen with every algorithm?

I wonder if you’re getting some jitter from your expression pedal.  Not sure that the exact model of EXP pedal will help here.  I’ve seen jitter in many of them.  If you can tighten up the treadle, that can help in some cases (mechanical movement – not values jittering from potentiometer slop).

One way to test (easier in H90 Control) would be to open up the expression pedal mapping on any parameter, dial in the low & high ranges, then leave that popup window open for a while.  Don’t touch the EXP pedal, and see if the mapping changes.

I guess another way would be to set up the saved EXP pedal positions in both Program #1 and Program #2.  Unplug the EXP pedal from the H90.  Then switch between Program #1 & #2, and see if the behavior persists.

This is my expression pedal: SONICAKE Passive Volume & Expression EXP Pedal, Mini Guitar Volume Pedal – Vexpress, which conforms to the Eventide specs and calibrates 1 to zero. I actually have two of them so tried swapping the first one out for the second – no change. Here’s the strange thing, if I leave the pedal up and change programs, the setting for the second program is also changed, but not by a set amount. If I bring the expression pedal all the way down, the other programs sometimes go back, but not always. The algorithm is delay and I don’t think it’s jittering, it’s too precise. Flumoxed.

Two questions – would another pedal do the same thing? Would using midi continuous controller to change programs work better?
(I have a four set gig Saturday night)

                      Hello,

Sorry I’m not sure what is causing the issue here. The Programs should always be recalled with the saved settings. If you adjust the expression pedal after loading the Program, then the parameter should be adjusted.

It would be best to record a short video of the issue you are experiencing and send it to support@eventideaudio.com
