I currently use my H90 in a wet/dry amp config with 2 outputs.

I am considering adding an amp/cab sim pedal for practicing with headphones or going to a DAW.

        Example 1:

        Output 1: (live) dry amp

        Output 2: (live) wet amp

Output 3: (pratice) combined mono out

        OR

        Example 2:

        Outputs 3 & 4 mirror outputs 1 & 2. Requires 2 inputs on sim pedal.

What’s the simplest way to do this? I have a MIDI controller that I could use if that helps.

          Hello,

Thanks for your post. Answers below:

          Example 1:
          – Outputs 1-2 are a stereo pair, you should not use 1 for the dry output and 2 for the wet output.
          – Wet/Dry setup instructions can be found here: https://cdn.eventideaudio.com/manuals/h90/1.10.7/content/setup/wet-dry.html
          – If you need another output signal, you can enable insert 2 for the combined mono output.

          Example 2:
          – Place a stereo insert at the end of your signal path, and set the insert mix to 50%. This will give a duplicate copy of the signal on outputs 3-4

Thank you for the quick response.

I am probably using outputs 1&3. It’s been a while since I looked at the cabling. (not at home to look so I assumed… )

            To confirm my understanding:

With the amps, if I want to say run weedwhacker and send it to the dry amp and reverb to the wet amp, I would use parallel routing and put insert 1 after the weedwhacker on Preset A with the Insert mix set to 100%. Kill dry set on output 3 to wet amp.

If I wanted to run say delay and reverb, I would run them in series on Preset B to only go to the wet amp.

Then, when I add the sim pedal, I add insert 2 at the end and use output 2 for combined mono output.

            Did I get it right?

If you’re looking for a simple setup, Example 1 is probably the most straightforward. You can use the H90’s routing flexibility to create a dual stereo setup for live (wet/dry), and a summed mono output for practice.

Set the H90 to dual routing mode, assign Out 3 as a mono mix of Out 1 and 2. Then route that into your amp/cab sim pedal for headphone use or DAW input.

If your amp/cab sim pedal needs stereo in, you could go with Example 2, but that would require more complex routing and more inputs on the sim.

Since you have a MIDI controller, you could set up presets or toggles to switch between live and practice modes quickly.
