December 16, 2023 at 7:21 am #176802Hello everyone, who could either give an algorithm or advice to create a swell or violoning effect with the H90 . Thanks Thierry

December 18, 2023 at 8:08 am #176815There is an UltraTap preset called “Ultraswell” that should do the trick. You can also check out the new PolySynth algorithm and that can give you some violin swell style effects. Start with the “PWM Strings” preset, turn the attack up for a slower swell, and adjust the filter cutoff/resonance to taste.

December 18, 2023 at 12:09 pm #176823Hello , I’m going to try the PolySynth algorithm.
I had tried with the ultra tap without results because there are many parameters.
 Thanks for your help.Thierry

December 18, 2023 at 12:43 pm #176824PolySynth is a good route to take, but don’t give up on UltraTap (or DynaVerb) just yet. Here’s a little “test” Program I just put together: UltraTap & DynaVerb in parallel. You can bypass either one in the Performance Switches, or dial the (P) Hotknob to 0 OR 100. Everyone’s playing style and system specifics are different. So the critical adjustments will be: - The threshold level where the swell will be triggered.
- The time it will take to swell to full volume.
- How long it will take to release that for the next swell trigger.
I mapped the other two HotKnobs to some of those parameters, to make it easier to adjust. - (A) HotKnob – UltraTap (Chop) Swell sensitivity & Rise time
- (B) HotKnob – DynaVerb Threshold level & Release time
I added a few bells ‘n’ whistles to experiment with (expression pedal swells, HotSwitch options for simulating ensemble swells, using diffusion & reverb). -

December 21, 2023 at 5:02 am #176872Hello ,
thank you for your help and advice, it’s really nice of you. I will try to program the preset that you propose with Ultra Tap, namely that I have no volume pedal.
 But I think you’ve understood.Best regards. Thierry

December 21, 2023 at 8:19 am #176874The expression pedal part is just an option, Thierry. The Program is ready to go, with both UltraTap and DynaVerb active. Just consider that you may have to adjust the Swell / Threshold parameters to make the best use of your setup.

December 22, 2023 at 5:35 am #176883Hello , and thanks again for your feedback, I don’t want to seem like a pain. I’m French and even with the translation, I’m having trouble with all these options in Ultra Tap and Dynaverb.
I’ve tried to open the links you sent me and I can’t open them.
I’d really like to see the settings you suggest on the application, but I don’t know if that’s possible.I won’t take up any more of your time. Best regards. Thierry Translated with DeepL.com (free version)

December 22, 2023 at 9:15 am #176884I am not sure why you can’t open the link, Thierry. I set it up as a direct download of a Program file, which you can then import into H90 Control. When I can, I will take some screenshots of the UltraTap and DynaVerb Presets in that Program, so you can input them into the H90 manually. Or perhaps I can list each parameter value for you to reconstruct.

December 24, 2023 at 5:08 am #176901Hello ,
I didn’t understand how to send your file that I couldn’t open.
At the moment, it’s the end-of-year holidays, so I’ll check after this period to try to download the file in the application.
In the meantime, thank you for your precious help.
I wish you a very happy holiday season.Best wishes. Thierry

January 2, 2024 at 12:56 pm #177026Hello , thank you very much for the detailed parameters, it works perfectly. Your help has been invaluable.
This pedal is really interesting and powerful.
Good music to you.Best regards. Thierry

March 13, 2025 at 10:42 am #188887One more for the road. Not for use with rapid picking. Adjust Threshold and Mod Sense Width = 0 removes panning to the right

September 17, 2025 at 11:12 am #192047just a shout out to say thanks for this preset – just what I was looking for and I’m not good at configuring this thing. Cool. I’m glad that people are still finding this thread useful. I’ve done some ‘string ensemble’ Programs with PolySynth since, but recently I revisited HotSawz for a ‘solo violin’-type of effect. Add realism by mapping the Tri Spd & LFO (Pitch) Amount to an expression pedal. If you want to use the original Program as a template, be sure to set the Program Mix to 100%. You can adjust the Attack & Decay (together) with the [P] HotKnob. Theremin Telstar Stalker. The 2nd pitch-shifting Preset is optional, for this use case.
