Will the Boss EV1-WL Expression pedal work with the H90?

Howdy,

I’ve been wanting to buy an expression pedal to use with my H90 for a while but I also want to buy one to easily use with my DAW and plugins. So I started thinking about any wireless options and just found out about the Boss EV1-WL which is a Blue tooth expression pedal.  It looks immense to be able to instantly control plugins so I’m wondering, will this work with the H90? I mean the H90 has bluetooth so I’m thinking this will be a great addition if it works

Anyone tried it or know if it works?

Hello,

No the H90 will not connect directly to this device via Bluetooth. The H90 only supports connecting to a host device, such as an iPad or Mac computer.

You could use something like this to connect the EV1 to the H90 over Bluetooth – https://www.cme-pro.com/widi-master/

Mac or Windows?  If it’s the latter, you may also need to consider this or something similar (CME?).  I honestly haven’t tried this EXP pedal or Bluetooth with an H90 (diehard WIN here).  But yes, adding any expression pedal (or two) really opens up the H90’s potential.

Is it something that could be a feature request? It would be incredible being able to control the H90 with a Bluetooth Exp Pedal! Just a thought!

I can log this request but it would take a considerable amount of work to implement. If there is a large percentage of users look for this feature we can consider it for a future update.

That would be amazing man. The idea of not having to use any cables to control the H90 both live and in studio would be nice. I’m not rich enough to own an H9000 but one day I will be and I would expect it being just as useful for that too (if its not already a feature).

I’d suggest grabbing a WIDI Master if you’re that interested in having wireless MIDI connection, that is the specialty of that device and it comes at a very good price point. It can make any of your MIDI devices connected wirelessly, not just the H90.

That’s a real shame. I guess I’ll just buy a none blue tooth one then. Not having to wire up the expression pedal to control the H90 would be so great for gigs!

Using Bluetooth with the H90 and the Desktop app/iPad app is great. I really wish this Expression Pedal could directly control the the H90. That would be next level!
