H8000FW to PC

  Hi, Trying to get h8000fw connected to my PC..
  
  Vista 32bit, VIA 6306 firewire pci card, "(I know you dont recommend this one but shouldn't it still connect the h8000?)"
  
  Firewire routing A-B
  
  Have setup Dice but says no devices connected..

  If you are using one of the cards we specifically do not recommend, you are probably wasting your time (as well as mine). FireWire cards are very cheap – get one with a Texas Instruments chip set !!

  I got a Gigabyte firewire MB with TI chipset.
  
  Loaded Drivers(Dice) on PC Vista 64. Shut down PC, Hooked up fire wire between PC and H8000 and turned them both on.
  
  Firewire routing A-B 48khz preset 6212.
  
  Am I missing something here?

  Nothing happens! Thats the problem..
  
  There is no hardware found(windows beep such as USB) when connected.
  
  No Flasing light on rear of H8000fw for firewire connection.

  That is a problem. It obviously could be the H8000FW hardware, but first I would suggest that you try both a different FW cable and a different computer. Also, check both the FW sockets on the H8000 – they can be damaged by static.
