Not having an Eclipse of my own (and the studio manager is waaaaay too cheap to spring for one), does anyone know or can they see what the four-voice detuning settings are for preset 865 Massiv[e]Ultra Dir[ect]?  Since I have both a PitchFactor and an H9, I have dual MicroPitch algos and would like to recreate this preset (with the dirt coming from my tube heads).  I’ve already tried the default +/-9 cents with +/-15 cents and each of the individual delays scattered about.  It sounds “massive” but not quite right.

        Thanks in advance!

In playing with this more, I’ve discovered that slight asymmetry in the pitch shifting as well as the predelay times seems to be the key here.  Also, widening the higher shifts out a bit more helps too.  So now I’m running +9/-10 cents with 4 and 18 msec for the one Micropitch and +18/-20 with 10 and 25 msec for the other Micropitch.  Much bigger sounding to the point of truly calling it “massive,” at least as far as I’m concerned.  wink

Apologies for no reply – this must have come in while I was away recently.

FxA is "Distortion Preamp", FxB is "4 Detuners"

            The Detune settings are:

            Shift 7,-7,14,-14

            Level: -3,-3,-6,-6

            Delay: 9,11,27,30

            Pan: -100,100,-100,100

            Feedback: none

The text of the Eclipse preset follows – much of this will make little sense to you, but you may be able to deduce some parameters.

Whoa, Nick!  Many thanks for the detailed info on the detuning.  I appreciate sharing the “secret sauce” on this preset.  smiley

I tried those settings last night and, yes, it was right there from what I remember from the on-line Eclipse demo.  I’m a bit surprised by the symmetry of the pitch shifts and that they’re actually narrower than what I was trying.  Also, I had the wider shifts at the same level as the narrower ones so it’s good to know to back the formers off a bit.  That said, I also really like my asymmetric setting too as it’s a bit more “organic” and “grainy” than the defaults.  Conversely, the narrower shifts result in a “tighter” and more “focused” tone to my ear.  (Gawd, I hate trying to describe audio qualities with esoteric adjectives!)

Thanks again for the awesome support!
