Hey there, having an issue where I type in a new device name for one or both of my h9s, on h9 control, it officially changes on the device (seen on the settings>Bluetooth>name page). But if I even leave the h9 app for a second then come back to it, it shows the names of my devices as “h9-[ser#]”.

Any suggestions would be helpful. This is only on my iPad. H9 control doesn’t have this problem on my iPhone.

We've heard about this problem from other users as well, and we're looking into it.

One quick question: if you load a preset on your H9 and turn your H9 off, when you turn it back on is the same preset loaded?

Thanks for getting back. Yes, my H9s both come on with the same preset loaded as when they turn off.

As Wes says, yes all the presets come back as they were before power cycling. Even the ones that are standard and not modified and stored in the presets pane. Also all the other settings seem to be the same as were; such as guitar vs synth lead, etc… This is across 5 units – they all behave the same way on an iPad 1 as well as iPad 4.

Presets should indeed come back as they were after power up.

gkellum asked this because we have had a hardware problem where things were not saved correctly at power down, and wanted to rule this out.

Seems my device is afflicted with the same problem. My iOS Bluetooth items display correct device names… but H9 control on iPhone is defaults back to using the serial numbers of each device (I run two H9’s so it’s a bit of a pain to remember which is which on the fly)

This is a new problem… didn’t do this when I first got the devices. It started happening recently after I uninstalled the h9 app for a bit and then reinstalled it.

@smj, yeah I remember it working before the “crushstation” release; it stopped working after that. Also, it was a problem that came with the ‘special build’ for the original iPad1 after the compliation platform change.

Hm… That's interesting.  A lot of people had trouble with their system settings getting messed up after installing the CrushStation release.  I wonder if one of you who is having this problem could try re-initializing your H9s system settings to see if that has any effect.  I say this partly b/c there weren't any changes to H9 Control that affected naming in those releases…  To reinitialize your H9s system settings, you turn it off and then turn it on with the right footswitch and the HotKnob switch pressed (the switch in the upper left hand corner of the H9).  This will reset your system settings, but it won't affect your presets.

I tried reinitializing. Didn’t make a difference for me.

Alright, well, thanks for trying.  It's helpful to be able to cross that out as a source of the problem…

Other than the SN/BT problem, I’ve had a completely problem-free experience with the five H9s. No crushstation firmware update problems, no problems updating algorithms from the H9MAX to the H9CORE’s.

Ok, we think we figured out what's causing this problem.  The next H9 Control release should fix it for (almost) everyone.
