However, the presets (when i tried demo 5 min mode) have WILDLY different db levels, very disconcerting, espescially for neighbours. DON”T try this at nighttime next to an old people’s home like i just have.  First preset, set my levels, all very nice , then… next preset  o my holy f****g goodness. Next one back to normal. ah lovely fuzz.ry the next prese…. AAAAAAArgH TURN IT OFFFF.

Is this just me or did anye else have this. I bought it anyway, as is v good when tamed.

Volume parity across presets would be a good idea ?! I think the police are on their way 😮

Yes, I had the same initial reaction to the [F]actory presets.  My guess is that a variety of staff / beta testers contributed to those.  Here’s what I ended up doing:

Thanks Brock. I have just ‘tamed’ the existing (useable) presets on pichfuzz today to ge the presets somewhere near parity to clean volume. I undrsa Fuzz wans a few db boost but good god almighty, is like 20b. he back down to normal. Then up 20db again.

Having such vastly wild variaces of volume level seems dangerous to me, and slightly crazy.

Bad for your ears, bad for your amp speaker, bad for your neighbours. Dread to think what it would be like live.

God knows why a company like Eventide don’t/can’t adress it (or the posts) it takes a matter of minutes to set db level to parity surely !? is like a horrible lucky dip of screamingness. Had the amp volume low ! Jeeezus christ on a bike

To be fair, there’s always going to be end-user mismatches in any high-gain effect, especially for auditioning preset junkies.  Gain-staging seems to be a lost art.  But I wholeheartedly agree with you on sticking to a consistent baseline level.  It would be useful to put together a [F]actory Preset [L]ist, and make it available here at the forum.  I believe that the Preset Sharing section will only accept individual preset uploads, though.

I put together a PitchFuzz Preset [L]ist, with the Output Levels fixed at 0 dB.  Seemed like the best way to go.  (Many, if not all, are also single presets in the Preset Sharing area).  But I imagine that there’s still minor adjustments to be made, for many rigs.  An individual preset may be full-on fuzz, clean double-tracking, parallel harmonies, delay-centric, or some combination of all of the PitchFuzz features.

The algorithm by itself is very cool. I like the sound I can get very much, but the lag by switching renders it unusable. Hey Eventide, you have brilliant developers, is there any hope?
