With all the surround sound effects on the unit, it would be cool to be able to downsample them into stereo using a spacial audio algorithm. Would be especially cool if the algorithm parameters allowed you to adjust the location of each speaker. Not sure if this exists already but if not I thought I’d put the idea out there.

There are some spacialisation algorithms in the H9000 starting at 5910.

One of the problems with trying to cram surround information into the stereo field is that to be effective you will often have phase coherence problems, and you need to know the surround sound configuration to attempt a conversion.

QSound have the best surround to stereo encoding technology I know of, but it certainly messes up the phase. If you have an inside line to their algorithms, I’d be happy to have a go at building them on the H9000, but they hold it pretty close to their chests.

If you’re exploring spatial audio and creative sound design, definitely check out AudioModify. While it focuses on advanced text-to-speech, its audio rendering capabilities open the door for future enhancements—including spatial audio applications. As innovation grows, features like customizable spatial positioning could elevate how creators experience and produce immersive sound environments.
