        Hello, I am receiving MIDI clock in my H9 from another pedal. I want to output the BPM to a Strymon El Capistan v2, but it is not working. These are my settings:

        MIDI Clock

        • Enable MIDI Input Clock: Yes
        • Enable MIDI Clock Filter: No
        • Enable MIDI Output Clock: Yes

        MIDI Output Mode

        • Thru

        I also tried MIDI Output Mode Thru + MIDI Clock

        For some reason, this is not working. How can the H9 be configured to send MIDI Clock to the El Capistan v2?

          Hi drcrowell,

          [CLK.OUT] should be set to NO, otherwise you’ll be transmitting H9’s clock, not the clock at the MIDI input. Output mode should be set to THRU.

            I tried setting [CLK.OUT] to NO and the Output Mode to THRU. Unfortunately, that did not work.

              I found the problem and the solution.

              • Problem: I couldn’t send MIDI to my Strymon El Capistan v2 and Cloudburst pedals using normal cables.
              • Solution: Use MIDI EXP cables.

              Strymon support said, “Our pedals require a component called an opto-isolator to be present on any DIN -> TRS cable, in addition to having the cable made to send MIDI on the TIP of the TRS connection, and receive on the RING. TRS MIDI Type-A is the most common type of cable out there, which works differently than this, and can cause issues from time to time. This is why we only recommend our MIDI EXP cables, as those meet all of our specifications and will work well.”

              When I ordered MIDI EXP cables, the MIDI signals started working as desired.
