Hi Eventide, I’ve just got this message couple minutes ago; I rebooted it and it stayed in the “Eventide H9000” screen; what can I do?

I tried to put  “usb-self-test.sqz” and “usb-self-test-info.xml” in a usb thumb drive and ran the test, however when the test finished, there’s no error log copied to the thumb drive….

            Hi,

are you using the Gen1 or Gen2 cards? Gen1 would need the 2.x, the Gen2 needs the 3.x firmware – the machine will not boot if you don’t have the appropriate level installed for each as described. In case you are on Gen2 and you get the message that the <span style=”font-size: inherit;”>DSP is lost the only thing I can add is that on my machine I had the issue that booting the machine would end in the machine not recognizing one DSP and showing it as „unassigned“ in the setup menu.</span>

Eventide Support yesterday hinted that it could be related to the WIFI stick that came with the unit. It seems like if it is plugged in while booting it is causing the unit to fail in recognizing some DSP, like in my case. I was just considering to send in the unit for repair but today I removed the Wifi stick and repeatedly booted the machine successfully. Strange stuff but for now it seemed to fix the issue. Hope that helps….

Hi, thanks for the very detail reply, I’ve got the original Gen1 cards, and tried to rebooted several times. Now the screen is all dark; hold the check and “*” buttons, still can see the updater process from the screen, but it just failed to update itself…..

Sad to hear….I had also an issue with the thumb drive when I updated to 3.x. It would not recognize it and stop. One user pointed out to use only the 32GB drive that was provided with the unit at delivery and that did the trick. I don’t know if that will help you but I formatted my drive with cluster size of 64 using the quick format option on my PC / Windows.

well, I tried a 64g drive with FAT32 format with cluster 64 and didn’t work; I guess I would need to send it to the vendor. It’s second time that I have a failure DSP card.

Are you on Win or Mac? Win should not allow to have a medium with more than 32 GB to be formatted in FAT32….just wondering….

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

Have you emailed support@eventideaudio.com? I just had a quick look and didn’t see any new support tickets from you.

It is best to troubleshoot issues like this using our support portal and not the forums.

It looks like you have USB update files on the drive if you are seeing the update menu when you boot into recovery mode. Please delete everything off the drive, then follow the instructions for the USB self-test and send the results to the support email.
