Sorry I haven't had a chance to set up
the testing yet. My real job has had me crunched overtime. I'm going to
try to get some audio samples up as soon as I can get out of this
crunch. Hopefully this weekend.
This is the plan for the comparison.
DAW:
RME fireface 800, Cubase 4
Sample:
Acoustic guitar direct input (Taylor T5) as not to "color" the sound with room and mic acoustics.
Audio:
Fireface 800 96K unclocked, dry
Fireface 800 96K clocked, dry
Fireface 800 96K clocked, Eventide H8000FW 96K effect unclocked, wet
Fireface 800 96K clocked, Eventide H8000FW 96K effect clocked, wet
Fireface
is direct connected to a Macbook pro via FW, H8000FW will be connected
via ADAT to the Fireface. I have to get the routing worked out between
both units.
Hopefully that will provide a sampling of the differences the BigBen can make (if any) on the DAW and effects (H8000FW).
