Yes and I think the counterpoint being made here is that basic usability, at least for some, is equally important. Of course it's ultimately an audio device – but it has to be functional in the practical situations it was built for, I don't think preset naming is a lower priority just because it's not directly related to the audio output of the device. The sound might be great – but if I can't find them, it doesn't do me a whole lot of good.
And honestly – I'm not sure people would be so hung up on it, if that rather large LED readout wasn't constantly crying out at you every time you look down at the pedal saying, "I wish I could tell you what sound I am, but you'll just have to remember what 5:2 does! Or is it 5:3 that does that?!"
