I use both the Roland EV-5 (which has a 10K B pot) and a random volume pedal (also a 10K B pot) that I soldered an extra jack to. Anything that introduces a variable resistor (potentiometer) between the Tip and Sleeve on a 1/4" audio jack will do it.
